Description |
plate The Salvation Army Temple Corps, Chelsea, Massachusetts 1946 - 1956. 9.25" diameter plate with brown sketch of Chelsea Temple Corps Building. "Sixty Seven Years ago The Salvation Army, Chelsea Temple Corps, opened it's work in Chelsea Square. In 1889 Captain Dickson led his force of Salvationists (strange uniforms, peculiar methods, drums, band, street meetings, etc.), into Chelsea and established the Army as a Fundamental, Evangelistic zealous branch of the Christian Church. Finding the need of new quarters and finding present facilities available, we moved in 1946 to our location on Fifth and Chesnut Streets. Beautiful in structure, and location, this building has become a center of Christian activity for young and old. Our Girl's Club Proudly Sponsors this plate." Produced by World Wide Art Studios. 9.25" diameter. |
