Contents of the time capsule that was placed in 1928 in the cornerstone of the Brooklyn #1 Citadel, located at 321 Ashland place. The building was sold in 2004 and the time capsule rescued in 2008. Unfortunately, it was a copper box that did not adequately protect from moisture. Hence, much of the contents was significantly damaged. The sheet containing the contents of the time capsule, a brief history of the Brooklyn #1 property, and War Crys' from all four territories have survived in decent condition, as well as a copy of the New York Times. All other items are severely damaged. The contents is listed as: Photographs of William Booth, Bramwell Booth, Mrs. Bramwell Booth, Evangeline Booth, Commissioner Holz, Headquarters, Brooklyn #1 Corps Band, Ensign & Mrs. Ralph Miller, roster of Census Board and Local Officers, copy of Invitation of Cornerstone Laying, program of Social Meetings Brooklyn #1 January 29th, 1928, Photograph James Harvey and Edwin Perrett, Dispo October 1927, The Counselor January, 1928, Young Soldier February 2, 1928, Stridsropet February 1928, War Cry from each of the four territories, New York Times January 26, 1928 and Historical Statement of Brooklyn #1 property. |
