A Salvation Army street meeting in 1880 on the cobblestone pavement at the old chair factory in Philadelphia PA. At this location, just a year before, the Salvation Army had it's humble beginning. In the ring of Salvationists are 17 year old Eliza Shirley and George Scott Railton. A Convert is shown kneeling at the drum. Bystanders and children stand by dressed in the Mennonite garb of the day. Measures 20 x 16" |
