"A great throng of members of the Salvation Army crowded Congress Hall, Clapton, London, when Commissioner Haines, Vice President of the Army's High Council, was buried with impressive rites. Commissioner Haines died within a few minutes of hearing that General Bramwell Booth had enjoined the Council from deposing him summarily from the Army's leadership. The funeral was conducted by Commissioner Higgins, Chief of Staff." |
